gray (faded black) straw hat with a rounded crown and a 2" brim. Faded black 1" grosgrain ribbon at base of crown, with 5 soiled white velvet flat cut-out flowers & a bow of black and white grosgrain ribbon on right side. Lining of the hat is badly stained. Tag in the back of the hat in the lining says "Code M'F'E'd. Under Mill'y Code Authority." This straw hat dates from the early 1900s and was owned by Mrs. John (Edna) Root of Ostrander, the donor's mother. |
